The Art of ICD-10-CM Coding is a t wo-day diagnostic coding workshop appropriate for ALL levels of home health and hospice coders. This workshop, led by national coding expert Sparkle S parks, PT, MPT, COS-C, is structured to develop ICD-10-CM coding skills and foster good habits crucial to coding success. This critical foundational k nowledge, along with application through workshop exercises and coding scen arios, will lead to coding accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This highly interactive class is structured to foster competence and confidence when assigning ICD-10-CM codes. It is MANDATORY to bring an ICD-10-CM Coding Manual to fully particip ate in the class and complete application exercises that reinforce the conc epts covered in the workshop.

ndash; Prepare for the workshop! If you are relatively new to codi
ng or not familiar with the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Re
porting for 2017, it is highly recommended that you review pages 8-18 of this document prior to the workshop. These
pages describe and define the foundational concepts of Coding Conventions
(Section I.A) & General Coding Guidelines (Section I.B) that will facil
itate your understanding of concepts to be covered in class. These terms wi
ll be used throughout the workshop, but they will not be covered extensivel
y in class. Your pre-class efforts will greatly enhance your learning exper
ience.
The Home Care Coding Specialist – Diagnosis (HCS-D) Exam will be offered the following day on March 3. This optional exam has a sep arate registration and fee. Click here to register for the exam.
