Alice Greenway, Home Instead Senior Care, Announced as Direct Care Worker of the Year

Alice Greenway

The Department of Aging has announced Alice Greenway as this year's Direct Care Worker of the Year.

Greenway, a homecare aide with Home Instead Senior Care in Pittsburgh, a PHA member agency, is a fierce advocate for providing exceptional care to those who need it and has become a trusted confidant to the families and clients she works with.

According to her nomination, "She goes above and beyond her duties, helping to train new caregivers, intervening when another caregiver is overwhelmed and coaching families through difficult situations."

"It was an absolute privilege to nominate Alice!" said Kim Witt, Senior Director of Operations, Home Instead Senior Care. "She represents everything that we all would want when selecting a caregiver for our own loved one. She's smart and quick to read people. She's calm, and quietly assumes the lead without you realizing it.

"She has a terrific sense of humor and humility, but most importantly, to Alice, it's never about Alice - it's always about her clients. The world is a better place with someone like Alice in it," she added.

Greenway will receive an all-expense paid trip to Hershey in May to receive the award. In addition, PHA will present her with a $500 cash prize.

PHA congratulates Alice!
