PHA Member Finalist for Nightingale Award PHA is pleased to announce that Sandy Ebsersole, RN, Home Nursing Agency, has been selected as a finalist for the Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania in the new Community Nursing Award category, which is being sponsored by PHA. Ebersole, who was nominated by her colleagues, joins 23 other finalists in nine categories, chosen from more than 80 nominations statewide. Finalists will be honored and the winners will be announced at the 2012 Nightingale Awards Gala on Oct. 26 at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill. "I am humbled in so many ways by this distinction," Ebersole said. "I am humbled by the fact that our patients allow us in their homes to care for them during a very difficult time. I am also humbled by the support and teamwork granted to me by my co-workers and our agency's leaders. "I am truly looking forward to attending the NAP Gala and to being inspired by the good deeds of nurses from across the Commonwealth," she added. "The addition of the community nursing category is a wonderful tribute to all of our home health and hospice nurses who bring care into people's homes, where they most want to be," said Vicki Hoak, PHA CEO. "That is why PHA became involved as a sponsor in this category. We are so pleased that one of our members has been selected as a finalist!
