Recruitment and retention of nurses and direct care workers are by far the biggest issues facing the homecare, home health and hospice industry. In this time of ever-increasing numbers of consumers and fierce competition with other agencies for qualified staff, many providers are getting creative with sign-on bonuses and other financial incentives to attract and keep caregivers. However, as agencies get creative, it is important to stay within the boundaries of wage and hour laws.
